Durafibre CFW 230 Carbon Fibre Fabric is a high-strength unidirectional carbon fibre reinforcement designed for external structural strengthening of reinforced concrete elements. Used together with Durafibre CFW resin in a wet lay-up system, the fabric provides an effective method for improving the structural performance of concrete members while addressing specific strengthening and load-bearing requirements.
Durafibre CFW 230 Carbon Fibre Fabric is suitable for structural rehabilitation and strengthening applications where increased load capacity, bending strength or shear resistance is required. The unidirectional fibre arrangement allows the reinforcement to be positioned according to the required load direction, making it suitable for strengthening beams, slabs and other reinforced concrete elements.
The fabric can also be used for column confinement, helping improve the performance of existing concrete columns where additional reinforcement is required. Other applications include reducing deformation, improving structural capacity and addressing deficiencies identified during structural assessment or building upgrades.
With a weight of 230 g/m², Durafibre CFW 230 Carbon Fibre Fabric combines high strength with a lightweight reinforcement solution. The fabric has a tensile strength of greater than 4,900 MPa and an E-modulus of approximately 240 GPa, providing high-performance reinforcement characteristics for suitable structural strengthening systems.
The product is supplied in 500mm × 100m rolls, providing 50m² of fabric per roll. This roll format is suitable for larger strengthening projects and allows contractors to cut and install the required lengths according to the structural design and application requirements.
For South African construction, repair and structural rehabilitation projects, Durafibre CFW 230 Carbon Fibre Fabric can provide a practical solution for strengthening existing reinforced concrete structures without the added weight associated with conventional strengthening materials. Installation should be carried out using the specified resin system and in accordance with the approved structural design and installation procedures.
